I started Onward in January 2022. It was Gilmore Exposure then — same person, same work, better name. I'm stationed between the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania and New York, and work with owners nationally.
I've sat in the CFO seat. Founding officer and chief financial officer of a commercial lending company — the entity stays undisclosed here, the work doesn't. Deciding what a balance sheet can actually carry. Pricing what a counterparty is worth in fact, not what its paperwork claims. Running forensic review on financing instruments and the documents behind them, and finding the fabricated ones before money moved instead of after. I've written more memos that said no than yes.
I've built companies, not just advised them. Logistics companies, which is why fleet and trades owners get a straight answer from me instead of a framework. A commercial lender, as a founding officer. A holding company in environmental remediation technology and agricultural commodity import, where I built the offer sheets, the pricing, the competitive analysis and the investor materials, and ran the grant applications. An AI implementation agency serving home-services contractors. This practice, four years and counting. Different industries, one repeated lesson: the company that can't produce a clean number on demand doesn't get the capital, the grant, the partner, or the price. Not because the business is bad. Because the paperwork doesn't look like the business.
The business side is fractional CFO and COO work and capital placement for owner-run companies doing $1M to $20M. It's both on purpose. A consultant hands you a plan and leaves. A broker shops a file he didn't build and doesn't know. I do the operating work that makes the file fundable, then I place it. The studio side is one-to-one instruction in things I actually do. Same rules on both: fixed scope, published prices, first person.
